What is Performance Testing?

Soak Testing (Endurance Testing), like Stress Testing, examines how the software behaves under load. However, the aim of Soak Testing is to establish how the system reacts when it is subjected to a permanent load over a significant period of time.
Spike Testing examines whether a system remains stable when there is an abrupt increase in user requests. Similar to Breaking Point Testing, an exaggerated surge is simulated.
